Endless AI-generated images make it challenging to discover original Crypto Art pieces. However, there is hope.

Music creations in the form of NFTs have recently surprised me with their affordability and ease of purchase.

Recently, I’ve noticed a trend among crypto artists to enrich their works with various multimedia elements. This includes paintings combined with digital components, 3D creations, and the incorporation of memes and political themes, as well as video clips and music.

AI tools play a significant role, but often the results are altered and reworked by the artists, and some songs are recorded with the artists’ own voices and are truly original compositions.

Contemporary meme culture sometimes detracts from “real art,” but artists living in this era of constant new and old memes have found ways to incorporate them into their work.

Today, crypto artists are working to recapture the underground energy that united them between 2018 and 2020, before the commercialization of NFTs began. They’re looking back to their roots and redefining what Cryptoart can be, striving to create more innovative and captivating works that challenge traditional art forms and appeal to the limited attention span of the digitally native generation. This generation has a broad understanding of what art is or can be.

Numerous platforms provide a unified set of tools for minting, displaying, curating, and collecting cryptoart. Prices are often quite affordable, with surprising discoveries available on platforms like objkt.com for as little as $1 to $10. See here my collection on objkt.

However, what’s missing is the emergence of a new generation of collectors who are willing to overcome the hurdles of setting up a wallet, transferring cryptocurrency, and actively starting to collect. Until now, it has been mostly artists buying from other artists.

Once a collector acquires digital art, they quickly discover several significant advantages:

1. No storage or shipping costs
2. Easy sharing via social media

3. Immediate liquidity to trade artworks if there is market demand

4. Meet and talk with the artists on Twitter or Warpcast or join and discuss on live streams.

What’s missing?

1. Good, unified digital art platforms that cater to traditional collectors and build relationships between artist and collector.

I can’t wait for Artsy to prominently feature crypto art on their platform.

2. Curators who write about their discoveries and adventures in Crypto Art, providing valuable insights and promoting the genre.
